6.5 turbo on a 6.2?

My friend got a truck for some parts and it had a 6.5L swapped in. I have a 6.2L I've been working on that goes in an 86 Blazer.

I was wondering how hard it would be to put the 6.5L turbo on the 6.2L, and if there are any issues with doing this?

Also the turbo needs to be rebuilt. Has anyone rebuilt a turbo before? Is it something a home mechanic can do?

Older body style (thru 1987 on pickups, thru 1990 on Suburbans or Blazer) you will have issues from the heater core, evaporator projection from the firewall. But if there is a will there is a way. Kits are availible to rebuild the turbos....if you have impeller - housing contact consider those parts scrap.

Yeah I am thinking of just tearing most of that out if I have too.

The turbo has some play, but it's not terrible.. it hasn't rubbed the housing from what I can tell, though it's more than what I would call normal.
