66/71/13 problems????

I did the exact same swap as you did on my dodge (62 to a 66 with just swapping compressor wheels) and there was very little difference in spool between the two. Oddly enough though, I never made over 42psi of boost with it either but I never had a smoke or EGT problem like you are describing.

Well I'm hoping so because right now I can't even hook on to a trailer without that bad boy hittin the moon on egt's!! I'm able to drive it down the highway but the fuel mileage dropped from 20 to 16 mpg lol. Mine is a t3 manifold 13cm housing. Fed by a 3 piece ats manifold.

Towing is going to be challenging with 6x.016's.

yeah idk I have been pulling with the 62/71/13 and didnt have to much problem. The highest I ever got on egt's was 1200 but it never spooled quite right! So I'm not hoping for a miracle but just quite a bit better results and idk how much of a possibility it is but hopin for about 55 to 60psi!

Since no one mentioned it; when you get the turbo fixed and installed, in wouldn't hurt to check for boost leaks by pressurizing the system and spraying soapy water on all of the components. Do it again after you put some miles on it. You will find leaks.

You only saw 1200 with 6x.016's?

I can hit 1800deg with my 7x12's and my 62/71/14 while drag racing if I let it. I cant believe you could run those 6x16's with a 62/71/13 and only hit 1200degs. Somethings up.

Well what I didnt mention was that I had my edge set to limit my 62/71/13 to 40psi of boost so once it hit 40 psi it wouldnt gain any more fuel just enough to keep it at 40 psi. Never ran the 62 with the psi limiter off.

I checked the intercooler and she seems to be holding fine as compared to my reg sheets as im using the same intercooler testing tools that I use on my 18 wheelers. The intercooler tested really well compared to big truck intercoolers. Just ran the overheads about 300 miles ago so everything should be in spec and ready to rock once she gets back.

Well HTT called today they say the wastegate pucks are sealing enough that they shouldn't be a problem but they are going to replace them anyway under warranty because they are the old style wastegate pucks! Stumped again?

I have the .88 ar housing on mine and it seems to work pretty good.

I was told that was part of my slow spool issue along with the t4 manifold. I think my issue is actually in my fuel adjustment cause after the recent adjustments its much better

The t-4 .88 is a Open ex housing . that's really a turd to spool next to the T-4 .91 divided .

In post #9 you said the pucks were turning when you checked them with full load on the Wastgate . That should never happen !!!!!!!!!! They were not sealing !!!!!!! HTT told you They were "sealing Enough" to not be a Problem . What a Load of ****!!!! Bet you it will act day and night better when they seal up . Your not the first one to have this happen to a HTT Turbo . Hope they take Care of it for you .

They covered the wastegate puck repair but i guess that wasnt my only issue. I guess my turbine wheel was dragging on the exhaust housing so it looks like im gonna be about 900 deep in a new turbine/shaft and bearing rebuild kit.

Round 2 got the turbo in and then the intercooler started leaking! Now got the new BD Intercooler in and up against a wall again!! Cant seem to find any leaks and the turbo hits 38psi then stops dead in her tracks! Could drive pressure be blowing the gate open?

Is the boost gauge fluttering?

Its weird if I put my foot in it it will hit 38 psi then if i let out a lil bit the boost will climb like 42 psi max. Seems to me like maybe the drive pressure is blowing the gates open?
