anyone use a 66/71/14 on a commonrail daily driver? i HAVE ONE LAYING AROUND

I ran an II SPS66 (66/71/14) on my DD for 80,000 miles with no complaints. Not the best turbo for heavy towing, but doable. I loved it otherwise.

I ran a 66/65/14 for years and then a 66/71/13ss. The 66/65/14 was laggy and the 66/71/13 worse. To me these are not great street turbos but I hear folks are running the 71/73/13 on the street. I can't imagine trying to pass some one with one of these. If the 62/65/13ss is not enough twins are the way to go.

I ran a silverbullet for 2 years, I even towed with it. Had a little surge issue when towing heavy as mentioned before, but keep the speed up around 70 no problems

Well with my SPS 66 and the right supporting mods and tuning I could drive it like a sports car on the highway. Supporting mods and tuning is the key.

I daily drive a 66/74 and its not to bad. You just have to be used to a different powerband.

I ran a 66/71/16ss on my 12V and it was laggy but with 4:10 gears it wasn't bad except lock up down on rpm would huff charger from time to time just have to learn to adapt your driving style, It's all a opinion of daily drivability, :ft:

I run a 66/74/14 on my DD with 37's and 4:10 gears. like said above its not bad at all just need to get used to the different power band. i have run it with no tuning at all as well and it isnt too bad.

x2 Some guys complain about 62s being laggy, other guys tow with 70+mm S400s, its just what you call streetable. I run a ED66/73/14 on my 6spd CR and love it. I also tow a 40ft GN with three race trucks from time to time, no complaints from me.

I went from driving a borrowed 6leaker to my truck with a 66/74, so it really doesn't feel that laggy. LOL

But at the same time I have headwork, a cam, and plenty of fuel. I got on top of the charger last night at about 2300 rpm so in 5th and rolled my foot the floor. By the time I let out at 3300-3400 I had my gauge pegged at 1600+. Hell TNTR was only on level 5. I think I need more air!

What kind of boost do you see?

I get about 1500 or so, with my little 90s and a stock pump so it doesnt take much to outgrow one... granted on a CR thats a 600hp truck, but still.

I have "125s" right now, but the damn things smoke more than my old 180s. I'm afraid level 9 is going to get really warm. But I'm also looking for 800hp or so. :D :nos:

I see about 52psi with out the water meth and 55psi with it.

Also my egts only get above 1400 when i hit about 110mph. Other than that they stay around 1300 or so at WOT and thats with out runing the water meth too.
