I know some things have been said on this already, but I am curious about upgrades to the 6 speed automatics, thinking of buying one. What are you guys running, and how much power yall making with this trans?
 
built two trannies the first one with then less than 500hp kit from suncoast it was a good kit but close to the first one off the shelf, truck makes 500plus and is holding so far...

second one is the over 500hp kit, it was much more refined than the first run of kits, both kits used the same clutchs and steels (kolenes). the newest kit comes with a build it yourself valvebody kit, muh more involved then the first run... lots of details if you would like them...
 
Just do a Suncoast rebuild kit for over 500hp and either get their trans tune or get the MHP tune.

The tune is what keeps it alive over 500hp, it has the correct line pressure ramps and apply stratagy's
