700 hp tow rig? lol

Id imagine the engine will live for about 150k before it goes to hell. As in the mains get whipped out.

This is assuming 150k is constant towing heavy.

I know 400-500 is all my 04 will take in the cooling system.

450 is more than enough for pulling, I guess your asking if you can still use a 700 hp 12 valve for towing? I wouldn't want to

My 96 I have now is set up to push over 700. I will know exact hp at the end of may when it hits the dyno, But you can tow with a 700 hp truck problem is the speed you chose to run down the road at, and what hills you have to deal with. because egt's are your problem you have to deal with you could be forced to run with od off alot of the time, depending on you turbo's and yes turbo's because you will want twins in order to tow and have that much hp in the truck. Also time spent tuning the afc so that you are controlling your fuel for how you drive and pull. My last truck was close to 650 hp and I never had a problem when towing anything with it.

I tow on the same settings that dyno 900 hp in my truck. I have hit 60 psi boost continous on long passes with big trailers and can" almost" maintain engine temps. At that boost my truck is doing more than 700 hp. I have a bigger issues with speed limits than any of the other concerns listed.

Build it right...and you can do everything...except change the speed limit.

Btw...200k stock short block driver at 500 hp plus since day one.

My rockers have a little galling ...but that is about it.

im not making 700, and havnt been on the dyno yet but my truck should be around 600. i run a single A5K and pulled a cat 248 skid steer idk exact weight but probably close to 8-10k plus the trailer was another 2-3k and i pulled that no problem just cant give it to much right foot, no hills or anything but it is possible IMO

that was a 30* of timing also. just studs and 20 over HG. max boost i saw was about 20-25

My 6.4 is right around 600 with kem 345 tune. I tow around 8k with it and not one parameter is off on my dash daq. I can put it on cruise at 70 going over our larger ship channel bridge and never climb over 1050 egt.

I would not think about doing it with a 12v though. Not when you can flash a tune and be done with it.

I will be following this thread closely. I am currently putting an 05 CR in my 08 King Ranch. Going for +700hp daily driver while detuning to 600hp to pull my fifth wheel.

CR and 12v aren't the same.

The barrier most hit with a 12v towing is the cooling system.
