Hey Guy's anyone running a 73mm Turbine on a 12v? I was thinking about swapping my 71 for a 73 but I'm not sure if this would be laggy on a 12v with an auto or not? Would this increase performance?

what are your plans for the truck? if you are looking for a good street fuel only setup i would put a 68mm 10 blade turbine in it, i think you would like alot better than the 71mm 10 blade, or the 73mm turbine. only other minor detail is you would have to get a different exhaust housing, and have it machined. the 68mm wheel is aggressive meaning it will build boost quickly, yet still has good top end flow. the 71 wheel you have right now is going to out flow the 68 wheel some, but will not spool as quick. i dont think you would liek the 73 wheel over the 71mm wheel.

I have ran the following turbos:
62/65/14: spooled fast (1500rpm) but ran out of top end fast, great for towing.
64/71/14:spooled slow(1700), but had good top end, sucked for towing.
64/74/14:lag pig (1800rpm), pulled awesome in the top end, sucked for towing anything.

I am now running a 62/68/14, with a E.D. super62 comp. wheel with race cover and a 68mm turbine wheel.
To be honest with you this is the best turbo so far. It spools alittle slower (1550 rpm) than the 62/65/14 but still pulls awesome up top. I would say the top end pulls the same as the 71 if not better. I know this sounds weird but from what I understand is thet it will flow the same amount of air as the 71 due to number of blades and blade pitch.

Honestly I don't have any issues with spool it took a tad of time to get used to the differance between the hx35 and this turbo but it spools just fine and pulls great up top to. I was thinking a bit bigger on the turbine might help but it might also allow me to notice the lag more to? I am liking the sounds of the Garrett Gt3788r a bit expensive though.... Anyone running this? What kind of numbers is this turbo producing on a 12v??

Your 62/71 will make more power than the GT3788r. If you're looking for faster spoolup and less topend, get the garrett. Don't expect the turbine wheel to last a long time if you run high EGT's all the time or like to sled pull.

If you're looking for more pull up top without the lag i'd look more into swapping to the super 62 comp wheel and race cover.

Tell me more about the Super 62 wheel and race cover? Can Htt retro the turbo with this set up? If not who can? What is the differance between it and the standerd 62 wheel? What the cost of somthing like that? I like the idea of doing both the SSwheel and bumping the timing with a 4k gov set up that would scream!

Talk to ED about it. I will be getting this charger from them when finances allow it.

Engineered Diesel is the only one with the super 62 wheel.
They told me they took an off the shelf Borg Warner 62mm wheel, did a bunch of flow testing, and cut a wheel that will flow more air.

Call up Chris at E.D. and he will be more than happy to talk to you about it.

As far as price goes, call the up. I will tell you that they were MUCH cheaper than HTT.

I personally will NEVER buy anything else from HTT. Their prices are ridiculous and everytime I tryed calling them to talk about a turbo or upgrade they just blew me off.

to HTT's credit, they've always been good w/ me on the phone.

but Chris @ E.D. has gone above and beyond for me since day one, and their prices are great
