75/96/.90 low boost #s

75/96/1.10 billet comp wheel and a properly macined turbine housing made 8 more psi on the same tune and bottom end dead zone was all gone even with a looser housing. The tolerances on my .90 housing were horrible, probably the biggest difference. Truck made 52# on a 1800us tune.
 
Well aftrt talking with the place that made the turbine housing i find out that the tolerances were correxlct for my wheel, seems i was reaching a choke point due to the 6.7 needing to flow more than the .90 housing could flow. So the 1.10 housing and the billet wheel are the reason for the higher boost numbers
 
Well most will never believe if but found my issue, was not the turbo, boost leak, or tuning. It was the fte resonator, i blew the ex off at the dp to resonator connection and boost went straight to 55psi.installed a flo pro straighf through muffler today and took it for a spin, boost was bouncing between 55&60 psi with egts @ 1350 and smoke under 1800 rpm is about a 1/3 of what it was.

Never ever would i have thought to look at the fte for the issue.
 
Yea that is crazy, I had a 4" FTE resonator on my race truck, only 100% overs and a 475/87 but I never had an issue with mine. Not saying that's not your issue just weird that the resonator would be the culprit.

Both runs on the same tune, take it for what its worth. The fte run was even up a grade so boost should be higher with the increased load.

I understand its hard to believe, trust me i was shocked too.
 
Wow. That's a big enough difference I'm going to take mine off my 12 valve and see what happens, my boost climbs slow like yours does. Maxes out at 45psi with some serious fueling.
 
FTE Resonator Findings:

I have a 2010 with T4 manifold and billet s466/83/1.0 Deletes etc.

I had straight 4in-5in-7in mitre cut in the bed, and during this time the truck at WOT barely hazed.

Installed FTE 30in Resonator off the downpipe...felt somewhat more responsive, but now at WOT the truck smokes with the TC locked and WOT.

I thought it was weird.
 
I installed the 17" FTE and all it did to mine was make it where I can actually hear myself think and hear the dang radio haha
 
Lol! I did the same with a 30" FTE to survive the trip from El Paso to North Carolina. 28 hours...
 
This flopro muffler is very nice. Loud at 2400rpm but the same as mt fte at cruise.
 
I love the FTE resonator... Just can't explain how I got a darker haze of smoke at WOT in lockup.
