I have a 97 12 valve and the other night we got stuck in some sand. We eventually worked our way out but every time I got on it and then just came off it would die. I has been doing this often when I am in a lot and in reverse and I just barely get on it. What do y'all think it is?

Idk for sure but I don't think it's anything weird but I'll check today and reply again and tell yall

Another easy fix is to tighten the governor springs once click on each side. If you plan to modify the AFC, this is the perfect time to do that as well since its easy to tighten the governor springs from the top once the AFC is removed.

Turning up the idle will probably fix the problem as well.

Ok. I will adjust the idle as soon as possible and I have done a bit of seating and I have come to believe that because I have an upgrades heave duty torque converter in it it is just enough to pull the idle down to stall while I am not on the throttle. What afc stuff would y'all recommend to do. I have the torque converter and an upgraded valve body and am looking into getting gauges.

If you have done a bit of searching you have already done what we will recommend.

We won't hold your hand...
