Adding ballast

No pics of mine, but 4x3 .125 wall rectangular tubing filled with lead. I think 19" was ~100lb.

you'd have to scale your truck to get a good idea of where you need to add. How much ballast are you needing to add?

I use diving belt weights, or a lead pipe filled with wheel weights.

Mounting is easy. ;)

Needing ideals for something quick to remove and put back in between classes. The weight will be right behind the cab but haven't scaled the truck yet. Probably need to add 6 to 800 pounds. Thanks

Jeezus. I was thinking like 100 lbs. I've seen pullers mount weights right behind the cab like that. I'll see if I can find any pictures online.

I'd do a steel pipe rear bumper, something like 4" diameter filled with wheel weights. Then you could use a jack to easily install or remove the bumper. Handling a 200+ lb bumper is going to be a task in itself...

I went to the junk yard and picked up 800LB of free weights and a bar. I took the bar apart and made a bracket that gets bolted onto my frame rail with 4 1/2" bolts. I have a bar coming up through my bed on each side. I used to have to add 400LB of weight to my truck to make it legal for some of the outlaw races. I also made 2"x3" rectangle bars that were 24" long and melted wheel weights into them and capped them off and bolted those to my fame. You can see one bolted to my frame in one of the pictures.
