I've made a few out of 3" pipe...they work well and can have as many bungs as you want welded in where ever you wish...power coating is even an option. The most noticeable performance increase will be on a CR with a large single charger...air will flow into the head easier at lower boost levels and there will not be a "boost wall" where the engine comes alive...on my '04 it felt like the turbo lit a hundred rpm sooner.
