Aftermarket turbo question

Is there a difference in non wastegated turbos from the 12v to the 24v? I was wondering if a turbo advertised for 98.5-02 would work on my 12v? Thanks

I have gotten a couple of my turbos (for my 12 valve) off of friends with 24 valves.. They work just fine..
