I just spent an hour searching and came up empty; wondering what your opinions are on a universal air filter for my twins should be. I am currently running a K&N and noticed some oily residue and super fine dust(???) in the turbo inlet. Becoming more interested in a dry filter, what brand, and purchased from who? K&N has the size I want, 6" inlet, about 12" long, 7 to 8 " diameter. Before I buy another K&N, what do you guys use/like?

alot of these guys use the filters off the kenworth's with a 4 or 5 inch inlet though

Anybody else? What filter and where did you buy it, please? Thanks guys!!!

amsoil make 6" inlet air filters I was just looking at them the other day

Stay away from k&n. They base there filtration on the oil you put on the filter. Your just sucking in dirt and oil.
I have a afe goin on my twins from source. Only company that has ever called me and made sure I got the order and that it was correct. Not sayin I have dealt with man others and that they don't do it.

this one is a afe i have a new one ordered now but its dimensions are 5 1/2x7 1/2x14inches with a 6in inlet

That's just what I was looking for, where do I order it? Everywhere I see them advertised, they are for a specific CAI kit, not a universal cone filter. Thanks, Rob.

Call afe and give them the dimensions and they will send it to u it was about $55 and also order a recharge kit also like $8 bucks the make one 12" long too

anybody run a sock over their filter? notice any difference in a twin setup vs a single?

S&B also make custom filters and the cost is less than AFE and from what I have seen the filter quaitly is almost the same.
