anyone run mighty diesel headbolts?

Make sure they are 12.9 grade bolts. Not 10.9!

I ran them or a couple of years with the stock gasket @ 135lbs. Pinned a 100psi gauge more than once. Boost doesn't matter nearly as much as total hp and timing. Finally blew the gasket @ 26 degrees of timing and somwhere over 700hp.

I got mine from Palmer Bolts for under $40 at the time. But, you need to buy extras, cause some don't thread in perfectly straight. If there's any wobble when you thread it in don't use it.

The bolts are strong, but I hate the allen head for that much torque. I had to weld an allen bit to more than one to get them out.

So, stock rocker stand bolts are 180mm. Mcmaster has 160 & 200 @ $4 ea., I have both and don't like either.

MSC has 180 @ 18.94 ea. minimum qty of 25=$475.

Fastenal has it covered. 180, and 190 if valve cover clearance would allow for a washer and it would gain you some thread engagement. $30 for 10 Holokrome. I would take that vs. their own brand available individually.

I may cut my rocker stands and use the 160's that I have laying here. May go Fastenal.

I just played about 70.00 for 20 of each size I just need to go buy more med and I will have multiple sets for under 100.00. I'll do that all day long and twice on Sunday!

Has anyone had an issue with these breaking near the exhaust manifold? Just curious because I've heard guys with budget pullers say they break due to the heat.
