At What Point Is Adding Weight A Good Idea

dont forget your rpms will be higher do to the fact that you dont have a lock up converter. i have never seen anytime when adding weight to the bed will help you. by the time you get 50 feet off the line theres all the weight you need on the rear end.

A agree with teh weight on the rear... I wish we could hang it off the front. So I guess adding weight to the toolbox (all the way in the front of the bed) is not worth it.

Weight added to the front of the bed does not go 100% to the rear axle. Some of it goes to the front where it is needed badly. A little extra in the rear allows you to get into the throttle earlier, giving truck more ground speed, and that wins pulls.

Weight in the rear does help. Even if you cant hang weight, put it somewhere. Remember that the more your truck weighs, the father you will go after the box hits because you will be using the weight to keep your momentum.
