Ive got about 15-20 sets of good 12v rods here. Pick casting of your choice as of now. Ive got 3 sets on hand now that are balanced; small/big end within a gram. Cummins cranks rarely need balanced, but the rod weights are very inconsistant and need balanced. Ive found stock sets that are nearly 40 grams difference in overall weight. If your interested in a set let me know. (812)229-1290.

Send your set to be balanced - $200
With good cores returned - $200
Without cores - $400

A week shouldnt be a problem as long as I dont get a bunch of sets at once. Its not a long drawn out process. If I had a set from you by the weekend you should have your set back by middle of next week.

:hehe:
Ohh im sure taylor does all his own work...
Is that why the last time he called me he was asking where I sent my stuff to get balanced?
Taylor does about as much work as Obama.
I like to think of him as Zac hami Jr. with the advice and knowledge of a politician. If you have a question that needs answered, you know who to call.

Sorry for the low blow. I just couldnt resist the fun.

Had my rods polished, shot peaned , and balanced for 35 a piece. Don't get how a hour job of balancing can net 200 bucks. Oh and thanks for the 6 week wait on .260 longer push rods instead of the .160 I needed and not calling me back. Guess Ill take that as a fck you to me...

just FYI, i guess you could consider the rods im selling as what the diesel guys call "polished". the forging slag ridge on the sie of the rod is "polished" with a beltsander just as the rods are balanced the same way.

as for your pushrods: what? i'm lost. apparently you have me confused with someone else? i got a call from a guy that said he needed a custom length pushrod. he said .160 longer than stock. i told him a week and it ended up being 2.5 weeks before they shipped out. guy on the phone said he "wasnt in a hurry" i figured if it was an issue the guy that ordered would have called back. i dont write down ever joe, dick, and harrys phone number that calls me for parts. apparently he didnt write mine down either, or he was too lazy to look my number up here on compd because i never had any calls or voicemails about a set of custom pushrods. never seen a pm either. hmm interesting.

was this you? if so, they must have short days in WI or maybe your just a little on the high side of your time estimates. it was definitely my fault they didnt arrive in a week. but, i distinctly remember writing the length down and calling directly to the manufacturer with lengths. either your were wrong or i was which is very unlikely but i'll give you your money back regaurdless of whos fault it was. send them back and ill paypal you your money back.

just to clarify. i dont actually "own" a shop exactly.

but its definitely entertaining. i'd join in on the compd reality tv show. they could name it, "ME and I". A show of know it all diesel mechanics. They who claim to know everything, but accomplish nothing.
It would go over great. Everyone would watch. Give a good background of all the characters in the first couple episodes and let the viewers vote on who they think really knows what their talking about. As the season progressed, the voting would swap backwards. Itd be Like Jersey shore for smoke blowing, hp craving, oraling rednecks. Ohh, dont forget the FB page for comments. That in itself would be entertaining.

someones gota create something to read cause compd is pretty lame anymore. im not like this at all in real life. the people that have met me will agree to that. but behind the keyboard its just simple entertainment to me. it dont take anything on here too serious or get emotional about peoples comments. "it is what it is."

So uh..... rods....... You dont happen to have ONE 12v USA rod kicking around, do you? Just stock, not polished, balanced, or any of that. I can do that on my own.

Let me know. Thanks.

Ill gladly post pictures of how far they are off in relationship to the correct length i got from someone else. Either way i waited on something that was wrong and got fed up trying to get a hold of you over the phone. I'm not one to leave voicemail because i rather talk then leave a message and play phone tag. Ive sent Pm's to people on here about parts and work with usually no response so i don't even bother doing that any more. Saw this thread pop up figured id finally get a response to the matter. I need an address to send these back to as its been that long.

There's a town just outside of Las Vegas called Pahrump, NV with a few "specialty establishments" that will polish your rod or anyone's rod for a set fee plus tips are appreciated for exceptional service, although, I don't think they use a belt sander like the diesel performance guys.

LOL

...while on the subject of rods, can anyone actually shed any light on what the hell 12V rod is the best?

Japan? England? Brazil? ...not he-said-she-said, fact?

this is what a true polished rod is. the sets i'm selling arent polished. the guy claims he gets polished rods for $35 thats fine. whoever is doing a true polished rod and balance for $35 can have the business because he will NEVER make any money. theres every bit of 20-30 per rod if you do average work. more time if your work is top notch. what do they charge over there per set.
