Benched Pump??

I just picked up a 12 valve and am trying to get all this stuff figured out on it... What is a benched pump? I've seen a couple threads about guys talking about them. The guy I bought the truck from said it had a II pump on it. He didnt know anything about the pump because he owned the truck for 2 weeks. Would II have put different dv's in or anything like that?? thanks

If it's an II pump it will have a number engraved on it, which you can give to II and they can look it up in their records to tell you what was done to it.

Near where Bosch stamped the original numbers. Been a while since I looked at my numbers. But they're hand-etched in.
