I was wondering what was working best on tracks with mostly red clay and maybe some tracks that are sand based. Sometimes the tracks are hard as pavement and sometimes they can be soft.
I am running BFG MT with 10% or less tread on it. I am spinning them like nothing and getting nowhere. I know alot of people run Trxus STS All Terrian but I have never seen them pull on red clay tracks to know how they fair. Should i go with BFG MT with more tread or try something different?

Thanks Ryan

Get something with some bite, the BFG MT would probably do pretty good, lot of guys run them on a clay track also.

Cheap Maxxis Buck Shot mudders seem to hook up well. Really soft rubber compound compared to BFG's. Sipe them if you want them to hook on hard tracks. The big lugs will help on the soft ones.

A few trucks that pull seriously around here run MT Baja Claws and seem to do pretty good. I have tried Pro Comp X-terrian and they do terrible(that was on my Ford Powerstroke when I was pulling it). I was toying with the idea of Boggers but that may be too much bite. Would the Trxus STS All Terian work in red clay or it needs to be a tread of a Mud Terrian?

Mickey Thompson MTZ i use these tires as my DD at the drag strip. And for 2wd sled pulling. They bite super super hard and pull like a train

I run Mickey Thompson ATZ's on mine. They seem to hook up very well. They bite the top of the ground instead of digging ditch's down the track. Around here we mostly have red clay or tight packed dirt, and they seem to be pretty good. Here in a few weeks I know of a couple tracks that are usually nothing but loose and sandy. I'll let you know how they do. Another thing that you may look into is your traction bar setup. The location of the mounting point and the angle of the bars can play a big factor on how a truck hooks up and how it pulls going down the track. Think of it as setting up the suspension on a drag car. Sounds crazy, but in all the years we have been pulling 2wd gassers, we have learned alot on suspension setups, and I applied that to my truck. I know I am probably the lowest HP truck in my class around here, and so far I have been doing pretty decent.
