I read somewhere that you had to replace the speed sensor on your rear axle. do you know where i can find one?

I had to replace mine, surprisingly they aren't too expensive at the dealer. Word of advice, be very careful trying to remove the old sensor...they usually break off in the housing every time. I sprayed mine with PB blast, waited 10 min & it still broke off. Had a good ole time trying to get the piece out.

I replaced mine two and a half years ago. It was $46 from the dodge dealer back then. After changing the sensor I still had dead odometer problems and realized the wires connecting the sensor to the main wiring harness up front had several shorts due to bare and exposed wires from lots of gravel road driving.

What i'm saying is check the wires/ follow them back to the cab area when you are under there. I've also heard of metal flakes building up on the magnetized sensor and causing it to read incorrectly so a simple cleaning is all it takes sometimes to make and old sensor work right. In my case I bought the sensor first and it wasn't worth 46 bucks to drive an hour back into town.

I didn't have any problems. I just pulled straight up on mine and it popped right out. Had 80k+ on it.

ive repalced quite a few on a number of different trucks some come out pretty easy others can be a pain, I use a small slide hammer with a screw to get the hard ones out.

Should be around 40 bucks from the dealer

Sorta. Part swap went fine but didn't solve my ABS light issue. Turned out to be a front hub ABS sensor.

Yup. Don't remember the price but I remember it not costing to much. Took me 10 minutes to swap mine out.

also, the codes i pulled off say something about having the TPS voltage too low and the APPS voltage too low. I'm gonna try the apps adjustment fix you've got. what about fixing the tps sensor though?

TPS and APPS are one in the same as far as I know.

well hey man...i'm not exactly sure what the hell happend...but i put in new injectors today...what an ordeal that was when i snapped the injector hold down bolt...boy was i pissed..but apperantly i don't have any of the codes anymore for the speed sensor or anything like that and the noise i had is gone...strange to me man.

Gotta love it when problems self fix themselves. LOL Now your just gonna sit around and wonder what finally broke completely that fixed those problems. LOL

your not kiddin man...i've got one hell of a lopey idle now too. i'm not to sure what thats all about. i'm thinkin it's got somethin to do with the pop off pressures...but i'm really not to sure.
