Ok, so let's hear from those that are so nutty that they needed an engine dyno to be able to handle all their crazy hp. Thinking of you pullers here...post dyno numbers and any engine specs you want to share. I wanna hear who's willing to admit to 1300-1700hp :pop:

I'll fall over dead if you get even one Mod class guy to give up his engine specs. LOL

I'm not talking cap overlap here..I mean like 450cid cummins, twin HX82's, sigma pump, ported head, really big injectors and a really lot of water LOL That all sounds good for at least 1500hp as long as I am dreaming.

how the heck do you get an extra 90 cubes outa the 5.9?

Weld up the crank and stroke it, bore the block and fill it. I have a friend with a big cube siamesed bore 6.7 that has been bored and stroked.

See? This could be a fun thread. C'mon pullers, give a little ;) I'd also be curious about Scheid's dragster motor, Dennis with nitrous, Morrison, etc. I know a few that have been engine dyno'd but I am waiting to see if others post first.....

sounds like someone's trying to get free info for an article.... cheap skate.

hmmm tempting....... higher then 1500 lower then 2500 only ran on it twice then broke the dyno..... uh shiny hunk a metal big injectors spinny things that move air and 390cui, sigma pump and 4 valves per cylinder.

Why so secretive? I can understand....but I feel that even if a truck has a couple hundred less he can still win.

Allright!!!! Thanks! Good 1st showing. Ohio Cat truck, right? And no Mike, I'm not trying to get a free article, if I was we'd put your truck in there again LOL

cause its not much to brag about, so we just dont talk much about it, we would rather have the engine do the talking on the track and not on a dyno. rather be known for finishing at the top not a big dyno # $.02

If it was me, I'd be quiet on the exact numbers so nobody else knew what to be shooting for. They could dial in a HP number then work on the chassis, this way they'll just push harder and harder and hopefully break some stuff. Mind games in my opinion, but fun!

Ok so far we have:

Ohio Cat Pulling truck
Engine:Cummins
CID:390
Block:Metal of some sort
Head: 4V of some sort
Pump:Sigma
Injectors: biggins
Turbos: two large
Nitrous: for sissies
HP: 1500-2500
Torque: More than HP

I'm going to start making a list :pop:

Pssst... May want to check your torque number there...

Its easy to calculate torque if you knew horse power and rpm. :poke:

Engine- Based off a Cummins 5.9
CID-450.4
Block- Tool Steel, no water
Head- Ported 4 valve
Pump- Sigma
injectors- 8x.020
Turbos- 2 large 4.2 and 4.5
Nitrous- this is a puller not a drag truck
HP-1608@4300rpm
Torque- 2240@3100rpm
Boost- 105#
EGT's- 1350-1500
1300cc's of fuel
and some water
Didnt get a chance to really dial it in as we dropped a valve. Going to make a few changes and get back to the dyno in about a month or so, goal is 1800hp and 2500 tq. All done on Darnells Engine Dyno in Cynthiana KY.

Last year with the triples it was at 1404 hp and 359 cubes. Lots of room to improve this year.

Where the engine is making big hp I bet the torque is less than the hp (just a guess).

Dude, you just killed Richard. LOL Thanks for the post, Straley. I don't know that I've ever seen that much info in print before.
