I have heard a few guys buying these and if I remember right the most the HP was only 7hp on the dyno. $400- 7hp ????

its the law of diminishing gains...once you get into the 550+ range on a vp44 truck and are going for fuel only power, that $400 for 7hp is worth it as HP becomes hard to wring out of the motor with the handicap VP44 pump LOL. Its also not always about a peak gain. My truck makes 470hp without any smarty programming or fueling boxes. But when I load a $700 smarty tune in the truck, I only pick up 30hp...but the power is extended through 500-600 more rpms before it drops off and the drivability and spool up time is great.

There is one guy in particular who made 496 a while back with an HO truck with HRVP, mach 4's, PS64 and smarty...since then he added a Helix 2 cam, got his TST working, and was only able to pick up 2hp on the dyno...but I'll guarantee that his truck runs better and makes more power up top now.

What charger does Karl run? Also I do expect it to get hot, very hot thats why i would have to run water injection for pullin. Its only a 2.6 class for street. FPP that is!:badidea:

are you guys running monster pumps or something to get all that fuel to hit 2000*??

I tested some mach 7's in my truck with a stock cam, and silver bullet 66 and I couldn't get it to hit 1600 on a long WOT blast down a country road.

My DDP injectors make just 10 peak HP less than the mach 7's did but have less smoke and will only get over 1500 when I am hooked to the sled.

Poor guy =P Springs, studs, and fuel system are great longevity bombs and the cam keeps it cool but they don't make for much fun on dyno day  I'd like to try again in a couple weeks with my 62/71 :ft:

Ive got a Blue Chip VP44 (Fed Ex)pump thats not supposed to be larger than stock. On a dyno pull w/ a 64/14 and 165hp Buddha Power stix, I made 480 rwhp @ 1550 deg. so thats what makes me think she gunna git a lil hot iffin I put 240hp stix to it.:ft:

mine are roughly 240-250hp sticks, no rating on them from DDP, with a HRVP44 from I.I. and the silver bullet 66 and I cant get over 1500 unless hooked to a sled, and even then its barely over 1500. do you have an auto or manual? if its an auto then I can see it getting hot like that.

also, buddha stuff makes power with lots of smoke from what i have seen, and im betting those injectors just run hot because i've heard that in the past about the Buddha stuff. i actually ran some huge buddhas for a short time and they smoked like crazy and got hot. go with a new technology EDM'd stick and the heat will not go up so much with the power level.

You actually just answered some of my Q from the Pullin Tread. So you dont think my little 64 is to small(well im gonna find out anyhow ha ha )maybe I should hold off on the water untill i get hooked and see. Where are you (in the world?)

the 64 is not too small, and depending on who measures it, still fits in a 2.5 class as it is 2.51" and they measure with a 2.55" plug

64mm can make up to 600hp on fuel, tho its gonna start getting warm, and dzlfarmboy on here made 790 with a 64mm on spray.

the water can never hurt, but i do not think its a absolute necesity yet.

Im lookin at a 2.6 class but the turbo upgrade isnt in the budget, YET. I also am a little concerned about the pump being able to keep up?

You can ask karl himself about the stix he is a new member here and I think he is one of the most expierienced people with don's injectors. Casey you knew what happened with me at geauga somebody told the tech that I had a 64compressor Charger and had to pull with the more nmodified crowed 2.5 and above. And also my 64/71/13 a 2.55 plug would not fit. I think it was something like 2.58 but don't "" me. If you try that at a FPP event I bet you will get teched. I did. I gave up and went with a bigger charger so that I don't have to worry about egt's or getting teched
