Blew the rear freeze plug...

I've got all the freeze plugs in stock if anyone needs some that won't blow!

I found interesting information from Cummins about rear freeze plug hole size and plug part number

Measure the expansion plug bore at the narrowest point. Record the measurement to compare to the table below.

Larger of Two Measurements Part No. to Use
Less than 57.912 mm [2.28 in] 3922072 (standard)
57.913 mm to 58.217 mm [2.280 in to 2.292 in] 3934552 (oversized)
58.218 mm to 58.522 mm [2.292 in to 2.304 in] 3934553 (oversized)
Greater than 58.522 mm [2.304 in] Replace block

i blew one of the soft freeze plugs out of the top of the head by the injectors this last week at a pull. it was one by the injectors, second from the front. i have 2 pump fins clipped, and one that is half. how does that happen?

any body make there own bypass?

Yes,
Unbroken had a thread on one he made.
A rear plate with a threaded hole from Haisley or Woodruff. Some 3/4" heater hose, a Watts 530c relief valve and a tube connection tee to the upper radiator hose.

Not that hard.

I did.

530c watts relief, couple fittings, some heater hose. That's it. I tapped the thermostat housing, worked great.

It's held 4500 rpm runs the last three nights in a row with no issues. I'll get a pic for ya...
