Block question

Got a cracked 53 block sitting here. Found a 55 block that was used in a 175hp industrial application. Will this block work to swap all the parts over to?

i seen that a few 55 blocks have been used to replace a cracked 53 block, the 55's had come out of 98-02 maybe? but said nothing about an industrial application? i have wondered this myself before using an industrial type block, think it would work. possible issue might be the trans bolt pattern?

A 55 block is the Same thing! Just better. Use it!

So does anyone know for fact if industrial engines had any differences on blocks?

I have seen and used both. There is no difference. Just myth.

i have a 55 block that was a 01 manufacture date and was a 330hp marine motor. thats what im using to replace my cracked 96 block..
