Thanks for helping push me over the edge! Sold back the '09 Jetta and went with a '11 X5 and JR's 2.8 tune. Took ~20 hours of labor just to get all the alphabet soup off the engine with the AWD stuff in the way. 380rwhp @ 4800lb is a blast to drive. Added bonus, the wife loves the turbo noise. :D

Looks like I still need to do the intake cleaning and swap over the now useless DEF tank to water/meth.

Hey Jesse,

Sorry if you have needed those turbo's. I still plan to send them if you are still interested??

We finally went and done it today:

Our X5 ate a belt idler, then the belt and the belt tensioner pulley in about 10 seconds last Monday. Pelican Parts - Porsche, BMW, MINI, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, Saab, Volvo - Auto Parts and Accessories got us belts and parts faster than the local dealer could, including overnight shipping, for less than just the dealer cost on the tensioner.

The book called for 3.5 hours. It seemed like a cakewalk compared to the delete when I finished in 1.25 hours.

Buddy at work that handles claims for these said check and make sure none of the belt got between the timing case and the crank pulley. There's multiple instances of the belt material making it past the crank seal and causing bearing failure. Just FYI if the belt shredder happens to you.

Thanks for the info on the belt.

If you all get time, we are looking to purchase a set of wheels and tires for the wife's 335D. I'd like to see some pics other than what google has to see and maybe even a suggestion or two.

We have had a few tdi's with the lower pro tires. Here in WV, it is a crap shoot driving around with this type of wheel/tire combo. They do look pretty sweet on these cars, however.
