If you could elaborate more to me via pm or post your thoughts it would be great, or tell me why I could only get to a certain boost number with different turbo's and different cam, and the such.
Heck, I have not the patients to come up with a typed explanation of what I think is going on. But in a nutshell if you have a pump that can only flow 100whatever in X seconds. But you have injectors durations that flow X+10 in that same time frame, you can see where the the lack of time is to built up enough pressure right?. If the pump flowed 150whaterver in X, And you have injectors "tuned" to flow X-30 in the same time frame, you have enough capacity and control with the FCA to build additional pressure in the same time frame. There for you can manipulate the pressure further with the mp8.
In my case, with the first few fulls on john's dyno last November. I think it was 5hp, maybe 8. couldn't see it on the gauge, but the mp8 made nothing for the most part. Swap pumps, 40hp gains. on the road while at WOT, you can feel it pull harder as you turned the knob. Same was true with the first pump on TNT level 5 + mp8., I could feel the mp8 pull harder... move the TNT up to 9, it was useless to me.
Boost is a factor of energy. Energy fuel right? For the most part, this is true. rpm, timing, compression ratio, flow all change boost too.
I'm kinda on the wall here on this.. I made 50psi with the PhatShaft62. I make no more then 55psi with the 64/71/13ss with the gate closed. Same injectors. More power yes, way more. 150hp more between the two, but boost on the 64 is actually gated to 50, and the gate opens just a c-hair.
There are many that spin the 64 to 60psi. others with stock injectors claiming 50-60 on a 66. There really isn't much of a correlation between boost and power to the "T" as I see it. I tried and tired, but I can't muster more then 55psi boost, 70 drive (hence why it's at 50psi with 50psi drive now). We'll see what happens with john's stage 4 and these volker injectors that are 30% bigger, I'm sure I'll have the fuel to trash the 64.
YEs, my CAC system is all sealed to 60psi, no soapy bubbles.
