I have been researching causes of my truck bouncing at my last sled pull. I realized a few things that were changed compared to previous pulls & need opinions. When I went for tech inspection, my hitch height was set at 24" which is where I have always run it with zero bounce. I decided to raise my hitch up one hole to 26" as per class rules. My blocks were set to 1" travel & my springs are very stiff because I tow equipment [6 leafs]. Is there something that I can do to fix the bounce issue besides lower my hitch? There is a link to my video in my sig.

It might not help, but I know it won't hurt, but do you have ladder bars? Also, it looked like you dumped the lutch alittle rough off the line... letting it slip a few more feet might make for a smoother launch, which MIGHT help with your hop.

Block the rear solid, hang weight, lower your hitch if all else fails.

I've never tried blocking it solid before. The rules usually call for 1" travel out here. I'm gonna look into getting some weight brackets & see how that helps. Thanks

My traction bars are 80" long. I did kinda dump it off fast, but I was trying to blow them off to keep from losing rpms. I usually come out the hole alot smoother. Good idea.

what was your tire pressure? that extra 2 inches at low tire pressure could be the reason. Also that track was rough at the starting line any little waves in the dirt can up set a truck

I ran 50psi all around. My BFG All terrains say 50psi max cold. I was gonna ask you to use your compressor Jeremy, but you looked a little busy.:hehe:

Na, we had plenty of time you could have used it, thats a rolling work shop only thing i dont have is a welder and cutting torch. Figured if it gets bad enough to need them it time to go home. That could have been why, typically the track will give under the tires so it takes some of the flex out of the tires, 50 should have been fine except the track was so hard that may not have been enough. I wouldnt go changing things until you get it on a better track, if it continues to do it then i would trouble shoot where its coming from.

Your tire pressure is way too high, the single bar will flex like a rubber band, and stiff springs bounce.

Yeah, I think I'll give it another try & see what happens. I'm pulling again on June 19. I'll give it another try & see where I'm at, then go from there. Cool Jeremy, thanks.

Really? I thought most guys run 70-80psi in the rear?

Depending on the truck, i ran 43psi in my bfg's with 1200lbs on the front of the black truck before the duals, on my street truck we ran 34 with no wieghts on the front and all in the bed with no issues. Put the same setup springs tires ladder bars on Marks truck and it bounced and blew the rear out of it

I run my BFG AT's around 60-65 in the rear and 25-30 in the front. With 40-50 lbs on the front usually also. Only time I ever bounced I wasn't running weight up front and I busted an axle shaft. Weight should though and a little more air in the rear might help also... Though, every driver and truck are different, you might just have to play with it a bit to get it just right
