Brainstorming Injector Sizes

So according to those rules, you could fab up a compound system using the stock 6.4 charger setup?

i sure could.....but i couldnt run a modified a hx35. they just cleared the rules up, and it's supposed to be an unmodified stock oem charger off of a 1 ton or lesser truck. so i could fab up the stock powerstroke twins or an he351 but i can't run an hx40 or a modified hx35

your not "supposed" to.... your modifications to an hx35 happen on the inside of the charger unseen by tech. IMO your RPM's will be your downfall and the lack of fuel supplied from a VP (max of 400ish cc's, regardless of what injector you run) just dont provide you with the powerband and RPM range that CR's and P-Pumps do. Consider P-pumoing if you really wanna get serious...$.02

On the chargers...

Bone stock Dmax VNT and bone stock He351Ve are very similar on the compressor - but the edge goes to the Dmax on efficiency and flow.

On the turbine, the Dmax flows more but is a hair less efficient. Net result is, advantage Dmax. Keep in mind that the turbine should be bigger since the stock cubic inches is higher and the volumetric efficiency of the Dmax is higher.

Now, take the Dmax turbo and mod it....and it will outperform a stock 351 no problem.

So unless you're going to mod the heck out of the 351, I don't think it's going to get you where you want to be.

Here's an idea, make a really funky header to bolt up to the Dmax charger....whoops, illegal?

well im thinking about just stepping up to the 2.6 class. And you don't need a ppump to be competitive. Look up Chase Eller. He is one of the top 2.6 trucks in Kentucky and still running a vp44. Im going to stay faithful to the vp as long as this one lives. It's all about suspension setup and tuning.
