Broke my axle pulling the sled...

Interesting, good to know for sure.

bosshogg, I know its overkill... but I'm blessed to be able to beef up this drivetrain so I figured I would... but your point about it being a fuse is a very valid one.

I know this is old but this fits my bill...

I have a workstock puller that I need more traction. I have a dana 80 DRW, 3.55 gears open carrier; dana 60 3.55 open carrier with posi lock 4 wheel engagement. I drive the truck on the road to get to the pulls. What would streetablility be like with a spool in the front and rear? how about a locker in the rear and spool in the front?

If you are going to be on the pavement at all than a spool in the rear will not work you will break axles on the way to the pull. You could do a locker in the rear and a spool in the front if you had a cable style disconnect. The truck will not want to turn if the front stays engaged.

Right. thats what i was thinking. Detroit in the rear and spool in the front with the cable disconnect.
