Has anyone had any success rebuilding a broken detroit locker?
the first hook on the dana 80 I broke an axel and after installing
a new axel tried to drive around the block and stripped out the internals.
Just wondering if I should just get a new one or repair it.

Get a spool or a an ARB. Throw the Detroit in the scrap pile.

I am in kindof the same boat too but i dissentergrated all the spyder gears in the LS. I was thinking about a Detroit locker. Do they make a mini spool that fits in Limited slip Carriers with a V shape(the cross ends are v shaped). Haisley Mini Spool only works in Carriers with round carriers?

Stripping a Detroit is common with a broken axle. You can get parts but they are very expensive. Get a spool and don't look back.

Parts for the detroit almost will cost you as much as a new detroit. Go with an ARB if your streeting it.
