building 2.6 puller

Get a South Bend with sintered iron disk's and a 4200 press plate and you will be fine. I've ran a 3850 ceramic button in my 97 since '03 and Peter has always been very helpful and stood behind his product. Just wish he had released his sintered iron disks before I got mine rebuilt last year! LOL

As far as gears 4.88s the final drive in 4th low nv4500 is 13.26 with 5.13s its 14.06 I believe or maybe 13.96? Just woke up can't remember? So depends on what tire size and style sleds you plan to run and pull. If you have lighter speed sleds and want to run 33s go with the 4.88s if you want to run 35s or pull heavy drag sleds go with 5.13s. Save some $$ and just get your front and rear carriers welded lockers and spools ad up QUICK!

ok we have have some pretty heavy sleds around here so 5.13's are probably going to be my choice. I will probably weld my carriers I've been thinking about that and going back and forth I just wasnt to sure how well the welded carriers would hold up

im was looking at the kenny tripple disk street puller clutch. it didnt have a price by it but i would say its prolly around $2,000.

Get the Kenny's clutch! SB does not know how to build a pulling clutch from what I have seen.

Maybe you should look a little harder they work fine in my truck and SEVERAL others in my area and on THIS forum!

SBC is the only clutch that I will run in my trucks! Peter is a great guy, sells a great product, and does stand behind it!

x2 on this south bend's clutchs have not been holding up to high hp sled pulling I know some people who have put 4 or 5 sbc's in their truck over the 09' pulling season.

Its not always the clutch the driver has a lot to do with it. I have a sb triple and love it. It doesnt matter what kinda clutch u have it can be destroyed. Just my $.02

well when peter himself tells you that his clutch wont hold up to pulling 5th gear whats the point in spending the money on one when you have to take it out and rebuild it every 4 pulls. its not the driver because their are 4 guys around us that have burnt up sbc's and are done with them. for the money why dont you take and spend your money on a clutch from a company who takes pride in their work and just doesnt ride around on a name
