I pulled my head to install used some valves I bought from a member on here. The tops of my valve stems are beat pretty good from running high rpm without 60# springs. I have 60# springs now but i ran as high as 3600-3800rpm without them IIRC. So in the process im looking at my pistons and cylinder walls. and noticed something a little goofy about number 3? Ive searched through several melted CR's pics an 12 valves and really haven't found what I'm looking for.
Is this bad?
Edge of #3 looks a little suspicious. So far its the only piston like that.
Thanks
Looks just like my pistons did, clean them up and see if it is just carbon.
Looks like i was freaking out over nothing. LOL
Cleaned them up real nice.
Little late :lolly:
Just carbon build up?
Spence, not trying to be a dick, but seeing those EGT's at your power level would indicate that you need to address a few things.
A burnt piston thread drew David in like a moth to a flame. On that note, have you leaned into yours yet?
I did hand out a nice A$$ whoopin to a brand new Porsche 911 Twin Turbo though... He had to have been like "WTF"!!!! And he got pulled over just afterwards going at least 100 mph....LOL
How did you clean up those piston tops?
How did you clean up those piston tops?

Isn't that how everyone lowers their compression?
