Boost sensor is internally embedded in the ecm i think? And rack position isn't resistance based. I can find out tomorrow.

Resistor alters the signal from position sensor making ECM to think rack position lower causing it to push rack further to get wanted position. VW guys use 1.5 k ohm pot bridged between position sensor wires, turning it to decreased resistance until idle starts to be erratic, then a little bit back.
