Can I make 450/1000 ish w/o a programmer?

I'm gonna start with the more serious mods in the Spring. I don't plan on racing at a track, I just want to build a street legal 450hp/1000tq to the pavement daily driver. I won't start any of this until I have at least 20000kms or 13000 miles on the engine. Just got it rebuilt bored .020 over. First off the tranny's coming out, billet flexplate and input shaft going in. I'd like to add 90's, FASS, Arson, turbo (no idea which one yet) intercooler, of course after the studs and springs. I know it's my own damn fault for not having gauges the last 2 times I blew stuff up with programmers, but it seems that they package all the bad luck into a neat little bundle and ship it right to my door every time I use a programmer. Smarty S-06 POD and BD power pup are the 2 I've used with negative experiences both times. If I gotta cam it so be it. I don't wanna fck with electronics really, so can I build it to these specs only on fuel and air?
 
No Im pretty sure you will need some sort of programming to get it to all run right.
 
why put all the mechanical stuff on without a programmer? you can get 450 with NO mechanical "add on's", just use a smarty....conservative settings BAM 450HP!

Done that... 12 grand later for an engine I want the proper supporting mods.... I'm really jaded against programmers since my experiences with them.

Like gauges?
IMO A person can fork anything up if they dont pay attention to thier gauges-with or without a programer. I would recommend a programer WITH gauges.

A smarty will not ruin your engine...bad injectors melt pistons...stock engines with bad injectors melt pistons...if you rebuilt your engine I sure hope you spent the money for a good set of injectors or you will be rebuilding it again.

you will need a something

i had 150 hp injectors, good ones 7x.010's, not jammers and a 60mm hx40. I did 451/975 with my edge jwa on level 6.

with the edge off the truck dynoed 280/5xx

also, get a chip with gauges, edge juice w/ attitude, quad adr with pulse.

both have build in gauges, and defueling for boost, egt, etc....
 
Yeah, I don't get it. Its a computerized engine, therefore you will need to modify the programming in one way or another to achieve anything significant. If you wasted two other motors and are blaming the programmers, its like blaming Glock for producing a handgun that you shot your foot off with.
 
you absolutey can do 450hp/1000tq without a programmer. i did it at fawl brawl got a dyno sheet to prove it. i never had any kind of box on it. but i also have a 12v. theres no way you can do 450 with a computer that is setup to only make to make 350 at the highest

Idiocy on my part plain and simple, timing on 4 pulling a 4000lbs (empty) dump trailer for work, no gauges, not blaming the programmer just leery at this point and I want to do things differently, like leaving the lead boots at home for example.

Replaced 4 out of 6 injectors w/ the rebuild with stock ones, right after billet flexplate and input injectors are next anyways.

I'm not gonna go that big, 90's at the most. I have gauges now, boost, pyro and trans. Love your avatar by the way, F that place is right I got banned from there for not supporting a site sponsor shop lol the admin. who banned me is on here too can't wait to see what sht he pulls on me here hahahaha

I think you answered your own question....Go back to the programmer use your Guages and treat it with respect...... Just my $.02
 
Sell it and buy a 12V or p-pumped 24V truck. You'll save alot of headaches and not have any problems burning up stuff.
 
friend of mine did 457hp with an AFE stage 2, 4" exhaust, and Edge juice with attitude..
