can you rebuild south bends

so looks like im pulling my 3850 dd out to see why it won't go in to gear, may be a broken leaver , with that said can i rebuild it well its out if its just a broken leaver, it's got 30000km on it and not a fan of pulling that heavy ass tranny more than i need to,
