Central Kentucky Smokeout 2.6 Video

Also this time of year not all trucks are either finished or dialed in enough to make the trip just to find out something isn't quite right. I'm sure if this were towards the end of the season you would have a larger turn out for sure.

I want to thank everyone for showing up at the smokeout. We didn't get the truck #'s that we expected this first year. I have heard may opinions from the pullers why the turnout wasn't better.
- we put up too much money and scared off some of the weaker trucks?
- people were hearing from another organization in central Ky that we didn't have that kind of money to pay out.
- to soon after the ts pull.
-bad economy.
I don't know the reason but I still feel we had the best trucks at our show. I learned a lot at the first smokeout and there will be another one next year. Once again thanks.

:Cheer:

Thanks for putting on a great pull. I had a real good time, especially with the r/c pulls and dyno going on throughout the day too.

I think next year there will probably be a better turnout. Now that everyone knows it is a well run event.

The only thing i think that may have caused problems is charging for people to try to qualify each different round. I think next year, there should be one qualifying round that takes the top 20 trucks out of it. That will keep people from having to keep paying to try to qualify, and help ensure you dont break your truck or wear it out trying to qualify.

It was a great pull over all though:rockwoot:

I probably wont even run a qualifier next time. We just thought we would have more trucks and would need it. It wasn't about trying to get more money out of the pullers at all. I think we will just do a one day show and run however many want to show up (10 or 50) all together without qualifying. As a fellow puller I know first hand of the expense involved. I tried to compensate the hook fee by letting pullers in free. As far as the sled setting I didn't want trucks to come apart like I was seeing happen at a pull I was at earlier this season. I feel like getting good speed in the middle and going out past 300' puts on a better show for the crowd and it isn't as hard on your trucks.

Davey, you all put on a great event! It was well organized and I ha fun Ll weekend as did everyone I heard from. We will deffinately be back next year and hopefully the success this year will draw a bigger crowd next year. Also big props to you all for paying out what you promised, I know of atleast one instance last year where there was big money promised but there wasn't a big turnout so they lowered the payout.

I had a great time, and will be back next year. Hopefully I'll have the new set up figured out by then.

IMO it was a very well ran event. I drove 5hrs one way and didn't regret it. Definately a tough 2.6 class. I ended up dead last due to a fuel system failure. Not sure what the deal is with it yet. But 12k worth of rail pressure sure as hell won't get you in the money. But I still had a blast and will be back next year.

Did the 2.8 and 3.0 trucks pull together.. 500lbs advantage to the 2.8 trucks or all at the same weight.??
Nice.. allowing hood stacks in the 2.6 class too..
From the videos.. it looked like a good event..
Bryan

The 2.8 trucks weighed 8200lbs, and the 3.0 trucks were 7700lbs, so there was a 500lb weight difference.

someone asked about what Kyle Ruby's truck looked like... It's either real dark blue or black and is an EC SB truck with 35" tires. It says Kaidens Toy (think that's how it's spelled) on the weight box and has the stack in the bed (functional), one in the hood (not used :bang ) AND an air filter sticking outta the hood too. LOL He's a crazy bastage and sure has that truck humping this year!

Wish I could've stayed and pulled or at least watched. I came down to play on the dyno with a few guys and check everything out. Definately a great place to have an event. Seemed like plenty of room for a lot more people. Can only imagine next years turn out will be better.

Here's a link to a video a buddy of mine in the show and shine made of his trip there with pics and vids of the night. I'm the green and silver 2nd gen on the dyno. Ended up doing quite a bit better than expected too so that always makes it fun.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to embed it.

And yes, Ruby definately has his truck figured out.
