Chip

Homo's, Pretty harsh words. Looks like you had enough time to bash on us but not enough time to give up any of your vast knowledge. You want us to help out but where did you help out.

:owned:
well since I help him get his truck where it is I would say thats where I help out.I told him if you ever have any questions and Im not around there's forum online were there's a bunch of cool knowledgeable people at competition diesel.com that can answer any questions, and he gets clowned on.But whats funny is he's probably making more power then everyone on this tread here lol

I'm sorry but aren't you being a little bit too sensitive about your buddy. No one was being mean to the guy, just good matured ribbing.

If the guy had a serious question he sure didn't phrase it well. He didn't say what his setup was.
To me, it seemed like his question wasn't serious, being that it was his first post and he didn't say much other than he made 650 with an Edge box. I thought the guy was just trying to get a rise out of everyone, my bad.

I agree^

Id say about the the best stack ur gonna find is just stack a redline with the Edge hot.

How about helping this guy out cause Im sure he stoked so for since its his second post, What a bunch of homos

So you are calling me a homo and you never met me...I think that falls in the same category as starting this thread after being a comp-d member for over 18 month and this being the first post.:blahblah1::blahblah1::blahblah1:

P.S. My honest answer to this thread was made by bsmith and is quoted in my signature. :Cheer:

What is a good setup for chips or computers for a 99 dodge. I have an edge with attitude and am making 650hp can I change my chip to a better one or stack multiple for more power

There aren't many choices to stack with the Edge because Edge does timing. Theres Smarty...it will make it more fun to drive, but will only hurt your hp numbers on the dyno. The Redline, but you will have to remove the Edge pump tap & the redline isn't street friendly. TST Comp, again fuel tap needs removed on Edge.

So the way to go is a smarty stacked with a redline.

Some will tell you that, but like anything else, its what the truck/pump/injectors/turbo likes on that given day on that given dyno. I'd say a smarty would be a good investment, no matter what you do. Even without the timing you could run an even number and still gain power. The key to the smarty is to TURN IT DOWN. What you really have to decide is whether or not you're shooting for peak numbers on a dyno or a fat real world torque curve. Its not that the smarty doesn't add power, its that on the catcher software, it adds it down low and to the midrange. Your peak suffers a little but on the street its made up for in faster spoolup. I gained 27 peak hp from going from SW4 down to SW2 back to back within four minutes of each run. However, the lower SW number that netted me more peak power had a spiked curve, where as the catcher programming came on a lot quicker and stayed fat the entire run, although it didn't peak out quite as high. Smarty's are more street friendly/fun on the higher numbers for a reason.

As far as fueling boxes, you're on your own. I'd get every buddy you've got to let you borrow them all for a day to do some tuning with each. I hear a bunch on here talk about the redline being the only way to go, or even the best way to go. The only reason I use it is because it will get me to 4k RPM everytime so that I can come out of the hole when pulling. I like about every other box for fueling over the redline, but none will get me off the line, so I don't use them. I've seen two trucks dyno with the redline and make less peak hp than running with no electronics (pump only). I am not sure what they had the redline set at, so I can't speak on that side of it. They may have had it set too high and drained the pump early in the run. This is a VERY common mistake in all VP tuning whether it be electronics, pumps, or injectors. I guess some buy into the whole "drain every last drop from the rotor" BS, but I don't. There's more going on than is being told when you're draining a pump. Just my $.02, but it usually aint worth too much.
