clutch install

you have upgraded hydro's on it or adjustable hydro's? I know when I installed my tripple in my puller i had issues where finger height was not set up right and I had to re-shim it, but that's on a finger style clutch, yours is a diaphragm style?

It does have the upgraded hydros from south bend and I'm not exactly sure... Whatever a 3250 is.

Any ideas about it not making any noise. Everything I'm reading, everyone says they are a noisy clutch.

Not really. I had driven my buddy's '09 w/ a 3600 clutch n mine doesnt feel no where near as grabby as his does.

It does feel softer than the stock clutch that was in it tho... Which was a little odd to me.

The newest version of the 3250 is very quiet, I just put one in my 05 with a G56 and I have to have the windows down and the radio off to notice the rattle. The only difference I noticed from stock was a slightly stiffer pedal, some gear rollover noise in 5th and, of course, no slipping. The burnt smell is definitely not right. Sounds like one too many 12 packs during the install, I would say you are going to have to pull it back apart and double check everything.

Haha you can never have too many 12 packs. My Dakota was built on 12 packs n it's running great haha... Anyway, I ran it back thru town n back home without any burnt smell. Fluke maybe? It's only got 90 miles on it.

If it doesn't feel right I'd pull it out and double check, I know it's a PITA but it's better insurance then having to buy a new clutch if something's wrong..
But I agree never too many 6-12-24-30 packs however much it takes to get the job done

I just installed a 3600 street with the dual friction and I cannot hear any rattle with it. The 3600 that it replaced was the noisiest clutch I have been around. It was the old style with no isolators in it though. I did notice that the clutch pedal with the new one was awfully easy to push in but it isn't slipping and seems ok.

Did you go straight to the highway with it or drive around some first? The only thing I can think of is that maybe, just maybe, the clutch wasn't seated enough to hold at highway speeds?? Back in stop and go traffic and working the mating surfaces might have seated it enough to hold?

I'm making a WAG here as I honestly have no idea.

I drove it down a two lane state road for about 30 miles, then went into stop and go traffic.

Only thing i can come up with about the lack of stiffness is that my old clutch was worn TFO and it could be harder to push. The throw-out bearing and pilot bearing were completely toast when i tore it apart.

your clutch is fine. quit being such a worry wart!

for one: upgraded hydros make it easier to push a heavier clutch. my 3600 is no heavier than the stocker was due to the new hydros.

two: you are complaining that your trucks clutch doesn't chatter?! chatter will come in time lol...

mine went for months before it started chattering in neutral at idle. (foot off the clutch) soon as you push the clutch in it stops chattering. it was dead silent till a couple weeks ago. just takes then a while to break in.

I just dont wanna spend another 1k bucks for a new clutch thats all..

And i'm not complaining about the clutch chatter! im glad it doesnt! haha

just wait till it does...sounds like something is ready to fall off the engine or a rod knock haha. then you push in the clutch and you're like "phew! It was just clutch chatter!" good thing is you only hear it idling in neutral. get moving in gear and its quiet, or clutch depressed and its quiet.
