Well, I'm walking through my haisley dual disk.. So I figured it was time to upgrade.

My mind is made up on Southbend. Just need to iron out the particulars now, and get some feedback from folks that are running them.

I've already got the upgraded hydraulics.. (the current dual disk nuked my stockers), so that isn't a concern.

I'm 95% sold on the 3250 with 12cb. But.. I want some feedback on the other options, so I can roll them around in my ole brain.

I am considering the 3600 with 12cb. In talking with Peter, he said that I shouldn't need the 3600 unless I intend to crack 650 at the wheels.. I don't think that is going to happen. Has anyone run both the 3600 and the 3250? How do they compare? Honest, drawn-out feedback would be great! Any particulars or details you can share would be fantastic.

The other option I'm thinking about is the 3250 with the 6cb. Anyone have feedback on those?

Thanks in advance!

How do you like the dual disc? I have a south bend con fe and im on my 2nd one. i melted the first one. i think its time to upgrade

It seems that the 3250 will hold a lot of power while still being very drivable. I am going to order a 3600 12cb since they are supposed to be a little better for pulling (not that I'm pulling every weekend). If you search on here, Forest said his 12cb 3600 (?) was very fast shifting. The 6cb is supposed to be faster, but I could see it wearing a little quicker, but maybe I'm wrong.

If you have already upgraded the hyd than I would go 3600 anyway. Even if you dont break the 650HP mark.

What's the pressure plates on the Haisley DD's? Aren't they like 3650 , but just a 6 button? What are your plans for the truck, like just daily driving it?

I had a sbc 3600 with 6cb and a lever pressure plate and billet flywheel. The clutch held really well and never slipped. But I hated how slow it was to shift, and having the billet flywheel made it always have a ringing noise to it when the clutch was held in. I have installed some of the new street 3600 12cb with a diaphram pressure plate and cast iron flywheel. And they seemed to shift alot faster with alot less noise.

I just installed a 3600 6cb and so far it shifts quick and drives smooth, light pedal pressure with stock hydraulics which will be upgraded in a week or so!

I haven't tried to speed shift yet but it seems to shift as quick as my single

I'm not sure on the pressure of the haisley. The pedal pressure is out of this world. The clutch doesn't owe me a thing after what I've put it through, but it sure as heck shouldn't be slipping at this power level.

I don't sled pull, but I'm VERY hard on the street. It will go down the 1/4 mile sometimes, also. I tow, but usually only up to 12k.

Well I've got a SBC 3850 12CB in mine, solid hub disks. I definitely don't get in a hurry shifting it. It held for 55,000 miles, with 2 hooks, 3 dyno pulls, and a lot of city driving around campus.
We put a SBC 3600 12CB, sprung hub, within the last couple of months in a guys truck. It seems a lot more driver/road friendly and seems to shift pretty quick as well. If it was me, I would get the 3600 12CB just for the extra clamping force. But from the sounds of it, either one should work for you.

Thats basically what I do with mine!

What where you running before it?

Does it chatter a bunch at takeoff?

Can you comfortably start out in second gear? Could you do 3rd if you had to?

How does it do on hills from a stop?

Have you towed? Backing up?

Pedal pressure and hydraulics don't concern me.. A little less chatter when I take off from a stop would be good. I'd rather have a little too much clutch than not enough for sure though.

i have the 3250 in my truck and it holds great even at 691 hp and soon to be much more power. i am the hardest person i have ever met or talked to on a clutch or truck for that matter.

Thats what I want to hear.. Can you give me a quick synopsis of these questions?

i was running a CON OFE.

no chatter at take off at all.

i havent used first gear more than 4 times since owning the truck. but the G56 transmission has much lower gears. i start in third everytime at the track and when racing or just want to do a wicked burnout. and yes just every day driving i can start out in third.

it does ok on hills from a stop, i have the 6CB so there is a little jerk every now and then.

as for towing i tow probably 4 times a month, over 10,000 pounds. no issues at all. backing up is just fine. again if backing up a hill there might be alittle jerking. but nothing unbearable.

Hmm.. Anyone ever driven a 6CB and a 12CB back to back?

Was there something in particular that made you wan to go with the 6CB Robert? I REALLY appreciate the help and insight!

i went with the 6 CB, because i drag race my truck alot. the 6CB allows for faster shifts. the 12 CB is going to be a smoother engaging clutch for those take offs on hills and backing up a trailer. also is better suited towards sled pulling.
