For a given turbine side wheel and housing, which compressor wheel will move more air efficiently: a 61.4 X 82mm (GT3782R) or a 63.5 X 88mm (GT3788R)? The 3782 has the same turbine side wheel as the 3788 so any difference in net flow should be a result of a different size compressor wheel assuming the same trim?
What I am getting at here is a 3582 vs a 3788 for the secondary? Does a good external waste gate simulate the bigger turbine side wheel and housing of the larger turbine? Looking for lowest drive pressures and least restriction. Can a 5.9 CR spool up a GT3788R OK? If it can, then it makes sense to use a 3788 rather than a 3582 for less DP.
