So at what point does this really become necessary? Hot lapping or just whenever?

When I was building mine all the issues folks was having was coolant pressure related. So I researched a couple different designs and came up with my own.Also when i sled pulled i had 4 3/16th holes drilled in my thermostat

Now that's what I'm talking about. Build it right and build it once so you never have to worry about anything. For what it cost to do the bypass kit, its a no brainer. DIY or even a kit from a forum sponser.
