cp3 or a p-pump on a cr 5.9?

Heck if youbgot the money to do a P-pump then you can build 2 trucks and either run a wicked diesel big Bertha when it's available or go dual fuelers. I think the p pump truck are stronger b/c they have less moving parts and don't have that 3rd injection pulse or 2 like the early CRs. The benefit of a p-pump is it's CHEAP to build, not like the CRs. They require deep pockets and with an awesome cam you probly don't need all that useless fuel like the p-pumps flow. I could be way off but that's my .02

But will they have HUGE RPMS!!!?!?!?! YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!!!!

The pumps can be underdriven to keep them from having issues. That is not a problem.

The computers and other stuff, we don't know for sure, but things are still progressing for the Dmax since the programming is open.

With the CTD we won't know for a bit yet since there are so few people with the standalone, and the programs don't write themselves.

one pump will do way more then most can use , its all in the tuning. The Computer turns the fuel back, not the pump running out of volume

When really big and properly functioning injectors become available, I don't think your statement will hold water.

There are people draining two pumps already even when turning off (lifting the ground on) the FCAs and running the pumps wide open. What's the computer doing in that case?

haha i have an 01 body that needs a motor... i was talking to greg and tommy about it... just didnt decide which way to go yet... lol i would have to buy everything ha within a budget

You CR guys can't turn near enough RPM's IMHO. I don't know if your CP3 limits you or the tuning. A Smarty should allow for denent RPM. I occasionally get beat by a CR Cummins but it's usurally due to traction issues. I think with more RPM's they would be more competitive. They don't seem to be able to come out of the hole hard enough. I can come out at 4500rpm in 4th or 5th gear LO and my buddy who pulls a CR can only come out at maybe 3300rpm in 5th LO. So if you're going big, like 3.0 class, go with something that can fuel past 3500rpm.

Just my observations.

You guys are still underestimating what exactly is finally coming together, in a sledpulling truck and dynoing right now, not to mention, been in boats, stream liners, and other assorted applications.

Just stick to the CP3 guy. you'll be better off in the long run.

You must live under a rock.

Dominator Performance Diesel Hits 5300.
MDE/Floorit is making power to 4000 with stock bottom end after just a few weeks of tuning

Better post up some info,I have buddys that would love to win more pulls or atleast have a better chance of competing with the D-Max's.

OMG. You ARE Greg Hogue.

No, I'm not!!! you take that back!!!!!!!

the peepee-pump guys aren't opening their eyes, that much is right tho.

Also, apparently some dmax guys are in the closest about what's on the horizon.

This is all so entertaining. :)

I'd have em start off by getting a real programmer, smarty or bullydog let you leave the line around 4k. If they can't compete even being rpm limited id start goin to another shop.

All the CR guys I know and run with run Smarty's. I was being smart about not being able to compete. They usurally place in top 5. They just can't run as hard as the hardest competitor's D-Max LOL and I blame it on RPM.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe just it's the fact it has a goat on the hood LOL.
Just messing with ya :Cheer:

Interesting thread. I think it all boils down to what your going to do with the truck. I think its been proven by some of the top 2.6 guys that a CR with cp3's isnt very reliable. I think if your going to build a 2.6 puller that you dont have to rebuild the motor all the time becauseof melt downs then p-pump. But DD/puller then probably cp3. But with these standalone systems that are coming out I think that everything is going to change.

And I dont see how you can say a p-pump is taking a step backwards:bang.

LOL. You'll never see a single or dual cp3 setup touch a sigma or inline 12cylinders pump, I don't care what times have or will change. Funny those high HP Cr guys run 12 and 24v rods too eh? Funny how the times change LOL

:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::blahblah1::banghead:
