I know there has been a lot of discussion on the CR pistons with what seems to be a lot of meltdowns. How do the re-entrant CR pistons compare to the VP pistons? Do they have similar bowls? How do the injector spray angles compare?

Smokem has a thread somewhere, showing all the different bowl and spray angles.

If it is the more recent thread comparing the two CR pistons, I saw that, but I did not see anything with the VP pistons.

which would be better in a P-pump setup if your able to get a custom spray angle for each style piston?

That's where I was hoping this thread would go. I'm thinking the wider bowl would be better, but I'm waiting to hear other opinions.

Where is smokem, tried to search for his threads and it says they dont exist

By the looks of it, you would think that the 05-up style bowl would be better for a p-pumped puller application, the wider bowl to help keep the spray pattern in the bowl for higher timing. But I could be wrong though.

Thats whay I was thinking too, but with it being a non-reentrant bowl, IDK.

I still think to a point you would want a deeper chamber as opposed to the later CR style...that's why I had just mentioned the VP and early CR. Just thinking out loud...

I have seen quite a few p-pump 24V build ups using CR pistons, but not sure which.

Is there a difference in between the SO VP pistons and the HO VP pistons? IIRC the HO's had almost 1 more full point of compression.
