Cracked Block

How long does it take one to pull the motor on a mod truck?

One man, by myself, just under 4 hours. That is with taking the time to label and wrap stuff, this does not count picture taking time :)

Even broken, your engine looks incredible. Cannot wait to see some more pics and videos this year. Good luck with your build.

Chris has the motor apart and the crank (gear welded on), rods (marine shot peened and cryo treated), and pistons (aries 20over/11.1comp) are all in good shape, any body intrested I will be putting them in the for sale section.

That freaking helmet cam is awesome!! :rockwoot:I mean... up until that bad moment.
Nice job on that. The sound quality is great.

I hadn't had a chance to watch it until tonight. I had my sub woofer turned up and had stuff falling off of my desk.:hehe:
I was all ready for you to let her rip then Ba-am!!!!!!

Do you have a helmet cam of a complete run Scott? I wanna go for a ride!!!

Like always that thing is incrediable. I have a problem watching the videos though.....I end up watching hours of all your videos and cant stop till I watched them all again. I think this is THEY BADEST DIESEL TRUCK OUT THERE PERIOD...:rockwoot:

Good news, the motor is in the truck was started yesterday, warmed up, started this morning, and re-torqued. Sounds a lot smoother, might be the weighted crank and roller rockers.

We blew the block in February and it’s ready to pull now in the first part of May with some upgraded internals. IMO a pretty good turn around and I owe it to some very good performance diesel shops and the fine people who work or represent them as well as several folks who stepped in to make sure we had what we needed in a timely fashion and offer to help out if need be.

First and foremost Watson Performance Engineering; Chris, his dad Paul, and brother Randy have been busting there butts to assemble, install, run the motor, and make sure all is ready for the past three and a half day’s.

The fine folks who helped us with getting the needed parts, some right down to the wire, as in this past week and ready to help out with plan “B” if parts hadn’t arrived in time.

Woodruff Diesel
Scheid’s Diesel
Mumau Diesel
Alabama Cylinder Head
Southern Illinois Crank

As always, if it wasn’t for the fine sponsors in my signature below none of this would have been possible. I am very grateful to each and every one them and all that they do for us to keep us going year to year.

If I have left anybody out it is not my intent merely my age and degrading of my brain :hehe:

Can’t wait to hang out with everybody next weekend at TS.
