Cracked Timing Housing

That case will move even if you have those bolts a half turn away from twisting off tight. It also keeps the gears spaced properly.

the bolts are not a tight fit, with out the pin the cover can move, spend a few hundred dollars, get a new timing housing and a pin, and do it rite the first time, you can probably find a used housing for cheep, with out that pin you can run the risk of braking the cover again and you could run unto to timing problem which could run into more engine problem. spend a few hunderd and then you will have no worries. that pin is their for a reason , same reason they are used in trans bellhousings

I'll see if I can mic the replacement KDP I have somewhere around here for my truck.

Mine cracked my case pretty bad but I am having my friend TIG weld it up and reinstalling the pin with a tab+ use a punch to put a ding on the timing case.
