CTD Ram 1500

Today I found intresting information: base frame in 1500 and 2500 is identical !! :woohoo:

I just mesured my :'98 2500, '94 3500 and '98 1500 frames, they all are identical (all holes in frame are in the in same location), frame thikness is same, only difference is frame lenght (wheelbase) and front control arms bracket location (4wd versus 2wd).

Soon I will start my project T-15 .

Project T-15 is :'98 1500 short cab,short bed, 2wd ,V6+automatic with mods:

Ram 2500 dana70 rear axle ,
Ram 2500 spindles with brakes
Cummins 12V from Ram 2500 '98
47RE 2wd from 2500 '98 12v
'98 12V PCM, full engine wiring harness,under dashboard harness,gauges

:evil

that was what i was going to do then i found the 98 i have now and figured it was easier just to cut it down to a short bed.

Are you looking to convert for weight loss or for availabilty of wheels/brakes etc. originally with ours (01 2500 2wd) I used hotchkis lower control arms and had the lower ball joint machined in a 1500 spindle and put complete 1500 front end under our 01 also put a power rack out of a newer dr chassis under it , if interested all is for sale including wheels and tires.

My idea was to make opposite swap: 2500 fron end parts to 1500.

I just bought flood damage '98 Dodge Ram 1500 (short cab ,short bed). Stock V6 engine is rusted ,same like automatic tranny.

I have spare Cummins 12V, 47 RE and Dana 70 from Ram 2500.

I tought to swap in 2500 brakes with spindles (bigger barkes and 8 lug wheels),

The project T-15 will be street legal disel drag car.

Like you see europeans are crazy as americans/canucks.
