cylinder head question

i do plan on going to a p-pump when this vp dies.

i thought they had a p-pumped CR? how did they get around it? custom manifold?

Custom timing case, so the position of the pump can be moved. 12v case won't just bolt up to the CR block.
 
If your planning on P-pumping in the future you might not want a CR head, i dont think it will clear with out putting a manifold on it.

the p-pump on a cr head hits the intake plenum so you either have to mod the plenum or cut it off and bolt on a new one.

if you port a 24v and a cr head they will both be close to the same flow rate but the labor will be greater on the 24v head.
 
anyone did any porting on a 24v head?

after watching my buddy port his heads on his LBZ, it doesnt seem like it would be that bad.
 
There is going to be alot more time in porting a cast iron head vs an aluminum one. Cutting Dmax heads is cake compared to a cummins.
