Dap governor spring install

It would be interesting to see if these DAP springs are as big of a pain in the ass as Pac Brake springs are! Peak Diesel all the way for zero issues.

If anyone wants to gut your AFC or remove it completely and put a block off plate in it's place I'd buy the parts, plates I have a few stockers.

I found one shim on the one side I removed an I never removed the other side spring. Now I'm holding the fuel plate in my hand.... Can i tune the afc for very little to no smoke on good acceleration with it removed?

That plate looks good. If you set the afc up for full fuel at 40 psi then you have afc tuning capabilities until 40 psi after that it's the plate.

Shifts around 3000 rpm in the video. Rpm at idle is 750 ish. Not sure what it was before as I don't remember. Maybe govenor needs to be tightened? Govenor stud protrusion is set at .052 ish on both as close as I could get trying to get caliber square to it for proper reading. Fuel plate full forwards, afc full forward, smoke screw in 1/8th from stock, star wheel set to full fuel at 40 psi. What are you guys thought?

Also what do you think advancing timing will do? It's at stock 13.5 right now. I will be bumping timing and fixing kdp when I get more time.

Ya it won't be driven much if at all before that's done. I've got the bluepoint timing kit. But I'm thinking the easier way might be to get motor to tdc using the tdc pin and then find some sort of dial that's the size of the balancer and just back the motor up 7 degrees and then bring it back 2 degrees for 5 degree advance. I think that's probably accurate enough as opposed to removing do and injector line and what not.

Ordered an electric automated fuel gauge. Didn't want fuel in the cab. Will be getting a boost and egt as well. Found some threads that date back to 08 for gauge install. None said for sure if a needle valve is enough or do I need a snubber as well? And should I only go to the ip bango bolt or is the filter housing a better choice? I imagine I could just put the sensor right on the needle valve.

Sorry I never seen this post. While turning the star wheel to get to psi it seems the wheel was getting hard to reach. I'm not sure if I should have more fuel in the lower rpm. Almost no smoke until rpms start to climb. But wot fuel seems a bit high I'm sure you can tell from video. I ground the plate with a belt sander. Worked real good.
