Desired Track Speed and/or Final Gear Ratio...

There are more combinations that what is listed, but to digress;

13.22 - direct low 4.88
13.65 - 2nd high 4.10 NV5600
13.90 - direct low 5.13
14.05 - 4th low 3.73 NV5600
14.84 - 2nd high 4.88 NV4500
15.18 - 2nd high 4.56 NV5600
15.44 - 4th low 4.10 NV5600

Thanks

Your final would be 14.05, calculate wheel speed in your useable RPM range;

How do you come up with 14.05?

Also what Rev's per mile are you using? I use 600 for a 35" and 635 for a 33". I just can't come up with your numbers, your mph is to high.

Maybe that is why your 2.6 trucks are going so fast?

NV5600 4th - 1.39
NV271 low - 2.71
Rear - 3.73

(1.39)(2.71)(3.73) = 14.050537

Wheel speed is calculated from crawl speed and changed from feet per minute to miles per hour.

Isn't the tcase gear ratio 2.72?

I was kinda under the impression that it was all about the wheel speed, but it obviously isn't. What is the sweet spot?

A few months ago I was looking into this and I put some of the number's together.
4th gear - 1.39
4 low - 2.72
rear - 3.73
fdr - 14.102

33" tire
3000RPM - 21mph
3500RPM - 25mph
4000RPM - 28mph

35" tire
3000RPM - 22mph
3500RPM - 26mph
4000RPM - 30mph
Mine are about a 36" tire, I like to call 'em fake 37's. IIRC thats how I came up with that 14.102

2.72 - 2.71, I've heard it both ways, either value will be rather close.
