Dynoed at scheid on Dunbars dyno and was really disappointed. Last year at same event and dyno did 304hp. This year added a turbo and injectors (ones in sig.) and made 369hp. Have went to 35's from 33" tires, but don't see that being that big a deal. Really hoped to be well over 400hp. Any suggestions as what to look at first??

Since I wasn't there today as I left late last night I do not know what the weather was like,BUT,if the air didn't change much from what we had Friday and Saturday it certainly was not conducive to making HP.Friday and Saturdays humidity would be enough alone to kill hp let alone adding the high air temps.Tuning for this kind of weather is a must when your going for all out power, you can not just drive there and expect to lay down a big number with a tune thats been setup for good air.

35inch tires can kill your number on a jet.......Andy

Lose the 35's then dyno again. Bet you'll be surprised. Heard someone before say they lost almost 45hp with 35's. Not sure if that was from 33 to 35 or stock to 35 but either way

Has anyone ever actually dynoed and shown the difference between 35's and 33's? I keep hearing they are hurting you yet I keep seeing countless trucks laying down 500+ on 35's with mods that equal the power they should be making.

What ended up being high hp on fuel? I was in the lead with 4 trucks to go when we left to eat before pulls than had to rush back to get buddy ready for pull. I was only running 33's though. How about the guy that blew up his turbo with No2, that was crazy at over 900hp.

661 on saturday probably a little over halfway done when I dynoed and he was still the high.

We dynoed a truck with 35's on it and did back to back runs with the OEM 265's and the difference was a loss of 5HP with the 35's but a gain of 5 TQ.

I've seen pretty big drops in power because of large heavy tires, but not to keep you that low with your setup. Might want to look into your AFC on your pump and make sure it's setup to allow for full rack travel.

I have dynoed with 37" then threw on the stock tires horsepower wise I only gained around 25hp with the stock tires and i lost torque

Don't feel too bad, I'm in the same boat. I dynoed right after you with my 6.0L and between the nationals at Indy and Scheids, I lost 16.22 horse. I ran 394.3 at Indy and 378.08 HP and 690.59 TQ at Scheids on Dunbars. I even added a FASS 150/180 so I was hoping for more as well, needless to say I was disappointed also. From what everyone is saying, that heat and humidity just straight killed us.

Dave said that the one that put down 919 was with his NO2 nozzle in. When he took the nozzle out and ran the NO2 with no nozzle, he only put down 900.The no nozzle run is when he toasted his turbo. :bang

High Heat+High Humidity=HorsePower Killer

Its gives you what the drag racers call a "Bad Air or Heavy Air" day.

Again,
While the taller tires may have been a contributing factor, the amount of water grains in the air and the temp is the real culprit. Our motors can only compress so much when in combustion and when the air is heavy, hot and low in oxygen power numbers will suffer, along with et timeslips, dyno numbers, etc etc........Andy

I was gonna say AFC setup could be limiting you.

Is yours modded at all?

Tire can hurt, but not that much IMO...It's just an easy thing to blame it on. I dynoed 566 and 1119 on my 35's on my old '02. Also, look at Ramario with the big rims and tires and he's ,making over 900hp on fuel only!
