okay everyone tells me i should be in the 13s but i cannot get under 14.50 last run i let off a bit because i felt a vibration converter bolts had come lose but my last run was a 14.59 my truck has edge juice hot 150 coaltrain injectors a garrett stage 3 that's all i can think of at the moment on the last run i never made it into lockup was going to lock it up early but never ran agian due to having to fix my converter the tranny has some work in it kevlar bands and clutches a hardened input shaft and a double disc converter has some valve body work in it but i don't like it i think i am going to get ddt

how much boost? i used to run a gt3788r also and to me it just didnt flow enough air for what they cost.

i can get around 44 but that dont happen till i hit lockup i don't think it flows enough i am sending it off to turbo resource they are going to change a few things if that dont help i am going to look into a differnt turbo so far i am not impressed by it it surges like crazy and it runs a bit warm for such a big exhaust housing think i went past 1600 a few times but i had i would say 40 going down the track i think the waste gate is set at 42

Your setup should be high 13's depending on how much weight your slinging around.

how do you guys kick it out of 4wd while going down the track?

i was thinking about building an electric shifter and putting it on a timer (something simular to a delay box)

wonder how many would be interested in something like that?

ps - sorry you are not happy with your turbo

13's sounds a little low to me...maybe i am wrong but i would think that low 14's would be more respectable with your set up...but what do i know

all you do is bump the shifter forward and it will fall into 2hi. They say it is made to do this up to 55mph. I always hit it into 2 wheel drive the second i launch cause it usually takes it 2 to 3 seconds for it to completely disengage.

I can reach my shifter with my seat belt on just fine. I usually shift out of 4x4 right after I make my 3-4 shift in my 5 speed. I can feel when it unlocks on my truck, noticeable less drag when it comes out. I can't take it out in 3rd gear because it starts to spin and definitely has a lot more pressure/bind on the shifter in 3rd.

My truck traps 2-3 mph faster in the 1/4 mile when I shift out of 4x4 vs running 4x4 the whole track.

It's hard to really compare ET differences cause it's hard to run consistent with a manual tranny.

i ran about 45 but i would run peg 1600 every pass, and they just dont make the power.. the major downfall is the choke point in the wg setup. imo drop it and get a 66.

some people talk like these garretts are the greatest thing since sliced bread and some talk like they are junk thought i would give it a try starting to wish i hadn't now spools great in some spots in others its the worst turbo and you can tell when its done and out of air

If your running an auto, it wont shift back to 2wd until you let off the throttle. Everyone who drag races just leaves it in 4wd until the end of the track . Just remember to disengage it before you turn onto pit road.

When BigBlue24 shifts his gears thats what causes it to disengage.

thats what i was thinking. i was wondering how that would work. never tried it.

Yeah, mine wont come out of 4wd until I am off of the throttle.

I took it out of 4wd one time while i was running and it made a clunk in the t-case because it shifted out right as the tranny was shifting to 4th i believe. Better off to just leave it in 4wd the whole time I think.

I would think high 13's wouldnt be hard to get from your setup. What gear do you lock your torque converter in? I always lock mine as soon as i hit 2nd gear. If you arent locking early, and your converter has a loose fluid coupling, then you wont run very good.

Launch at 20psi and turn on the lock-up switch before you launch, that way it locks as soon as you hit 2nd.

i have shifted out of 4 hi and left it in all the way down the track feels like it makes a difference but its just a small difference on the slip i have not used my lock up switch yet i will give it a try next time i go

If you have a triple disc convertor,

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT THE VERY LEAST A BILLET INPUT!!!

If you lockup and when it shifts your going to get a broken input.

slight problem there i only got hardened input kinda got cheap :bang
