Dr Performance Dyno Day - Quick Update

I hear JoshH did. It's a good thing his truck is broke, because BFD would have found out what a fast Duramax is really like. As it was, he's been helping tune his Dad's truck while he is rebuilding his OWN twin CP3 compound turboed monster.

Josh's personal truck was running in the 11's and 12's here in the Boise area. Josh, your racing and company is missed up here. Get that truck back together and come up and visit the guys up here when you can.

For those that don't know Josh's Truck:

So JoshH won running a "bone stock" Duramax with tuning?

Holy crap...

We do miss you Josh... We need a 6th for the July 3rd club race. Can you say "Road Trip"...

Congrats...

Rob

Good times! Even though I broke out (more) than roskoe115 in the first round, I did come out with a $250 voucher for best ET of the day. JoshH had his dad's truck dead on all day.

Great to put alot of faces with names on this site.

Here's the First two passes of the day that Dex and I did.

WARNING!!!!! Second video has a slight f bomb right at the first of it.
YouTube - First pass Dr. P event Dex vs. Heath
YouTube - second pass Dr. P event Dex vs. Heath

those videos remind me of this

haha. looks like i missed out on a good event, but my truck hates me. jsut got the whole cam ordeal fixed then i almsot died because the procomp steering finally gave up and i think i have bad injectors ( rough idle, white smoke, hard starts)

Lots of fun yesterday!

Started getting the LazarSmith Special dialed in (nitrous sure helps at the Tree), so I was able to shoe a pair of .012 & .015 R/Ts... and discovered the 2nd stage of NO2 breaks traction in the 60' :nos:

Best E.T. of 8.56 & 83 mph with triple-digit temps was satisfying.

Thanks to Dr. P for the free nitrous! :rockwoot:

A duramax that run 12's? Thats the first i've ever heard of that! Let alone seen one! :umno:

cool beans man, congrats, just don't blow it up. Everybody was saying you were going to blow up that LMM as much as you were hot lapping it. I am not that brave, I would have not made as many passes as you did, i would be afraid of melting or blowing something up. Any idea how many passes you made? I made like 10 and thought that was alot. You and that red dodge made like a zillion passes!

I already did. Like I posted last night, the aftermarket rods I put in it weren't exactly capable of what I was led to believe they were, and they bent after a few months and 4500 miles of use. That's why the engine is out of the truck again.

I think all total the truck made about 20 passes last night. I was trying to give the truck about 10 to 15 minutest to cool down a little between passes, but at one point dad took the truck and made 4 passes back to back from the return road to the staging lanes.

I guess I better fix my post. I had the best R/T (reaction time) of the day and not ET.

I do not think anyone did as many runs (really bad ones) as the maroon/red Cummins!

Yeah that truck was on its way to being tore up No doubt. I told him that I have empathy for his clutch and he just told be it was a dual disk and it would be alright :hehe:.

They where nice guys thought. Talk to them at the dyno for a wile then some at the track. Not bad people.

I did notice on the first page of the DR. P post that it does say closest to DIAL IN, so to me that means that I should have beat Josh.. no big deal, next time Ill just lower my dial in and run a little more spray and stay off the brakes to get across the line first.

I'm really sorry you misunderstood how bracket racing works. I feel bad that you didn't understand. If it makes you feel any better, I was on the brakes on that run too. If you care, here's a link with some good info on bracket racing: The Staging Light -- Drag Racing

There's some good info on reaction times and top end racing too.

Thanks man, I had fun anyway. That was the funnest run of the night for me, I had the bottle hooked up all night but never used it untill that run. I was told that you would get out in front then hit the brakes at the end, so I figured If I could get in front of you I could get you to go to fast.

Had a great time at the race, big thanks to the Dr. Performance guys for putting it on. May or may not be in the black truck but.. I'll see yall at the next one as well. The finals found myself and Aaron, it was a very fun race he went red by only .006 and ran a 7 flat to my 6.53 I believe it was, it was a handful to keep my junk off the rt. wall and even Aaron when I lifted after the stripe, the chassis is so badly twisted that it took a unreal amount of left hand steer to try and go straight, that pass was the last for this chassis and perhaps the truck. Big thanks again for the Dr. Perf. guys and others for putting on the race.

great race, wish my truck could have made it but decided to stretch the chain in the transfer case......thanks dr performance, Micah with ODRA and all the other sponsors for putting on a good show. BTW, my gf is bad a$$ at bracket racing so if yall have any questions feel free to lemme know, all BS set aside

I hate to hear that. The truck is a awesome piece of machinery to watch and I hate that your chassis has twisted that bad. I hope you can get another one just like it and transfer the stuff over. Thanks for coming out considering the shape of the ride.
